Service Terms & Warranty Details
Last Updated: August 23, 2026
1. Service Terms
These Service Terms & Warranty Details describe general policies applicable to services provided by Uniq Installs, LLC (“Uniq Installs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Project-specific pricing, equipment, materials, scope of work, payment terms, scheduling requirements, and other conditions may also be stated in an estimate, proposal, invoice, contract, change order, or other written agreement provided to the client.
If project-specific written terms differ from these general terms, the project-specific terms will control to the extent of the conflict.
Uniq Installs provides professional audio/video, low-voltage, networking, surveillance, smart-home, and related installation, integration, service, and consulting work. The exact services to be performed are limited to the approved scope for each project.
2. Estimates, Proposals & Change Orders
Estimates and proposals are based on the information reasonably available at the time they are prepared. Pricing, equipment, materials, quantities, labor, and other project requirements may change if site conditions, client requests, product availability, or other circumstances differ from what was originally anticipated.
Work outside the approved scope may require additional authorization and may result in additional charges. When appropriate, Uniq Installs may issue a written change order, revised proposal, or other documentation describing the additional work and associated cost.
Equipment and material availability is subject to change. If a specified product becomes unavailable, discontinued, delayed, or otherwise impractical to obtain, Uniq Installs may recommend a reasonably comparable alternative for the client’s approval.
3. Deposit & Payment
Unless otherwise stated in a project-specific written agreement, the standard deposit is equal to the full cost of materials and equipment plus 50% of the quoted labor. The deposit is due before equipment is ordered and/or the project is scheduled.
The remaining balance is due upon completion of the approved scope of work unless otherwise agreed in writing. Additional work, materials, equipment, or services authorized during the project may be added to the final balance or billed separately.
Payments must be made using an accepted payment method identified by Uniq Installs. Any payment terms, discounts, financing arrangements, or other payment conditions specifically stated in a proposal, invoice, or written agreement will apply to that project.
4. Scheduling, Access & Site Conditions
Appointment dates and arrival windows are subject to availability and may be affected by project requirements, equipment availability, weather, traffic, building access, prior appointments, or other circumstances. Unless otherwise agreed, Uniq Installs schedules service using a two-hour arrival window and will make reasonable efforts to provide a pre-arrival call approximately 30 minutes before arrival.
The client is responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the work area and for identifying known conditions that may affect the work, including concealed utilities, plumbing, electrical wiring, structural concerns, hazardous materials, building restrictions, condominium or association requirements, and other relevant site conditions.
Unforeseen or concealed conditions discovered after work begins may require changes to the scope, schedule, method of installation, or price. Uniq Installs may pause or decline work when conditions are unsafe, inaccessible, outside the approved scope, or require work by another appropriately licensed or qualified trade.
5. Client-Supplied & Existing Equipment
Uniq Installs may install, connect, configure, or troubleshoot equipment supplied by the client or equipment that was previously installed by another party. Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, Uniq Installs does not warrant the condition, compatibility, reliability, performance, or remaining useful life of client-supplied or pre-existing equipment.
The client is responsible for ensuring that client-supplied equipment is available, complete, and suitable for the intended installation. Additional labor, materials, adapters, replacement parts, troubleshooting, or return visits required because of missing, defective, incompatible, improperly configured, or otherwise unsuitable equipment may result in additional charges.
Uniq Installs is not responsible for defects, failures, service interruptions, software or firmware issues, manufacturer limitations, internet or utility outages, subscription services, or problems originating from equipment, wiring, systems, or services outside the approved scope of work.
6. 3-Year Workmanship Warranty
Uniq Installs stands behind the quality of our installation work. Unless otherwise stated in writing, installation labor performed by Uniq Installs is covered by a three (3) year workmanship warranty beginning on the date the applicable installation is completed.
This warranty covers defects directly resulting from workmanship performed by Uniq Installs within the approved scope of work. If covered workmanship is determined to be defective during the warranty period, Uniq Installs will, at its discretion, repair or correct the covered workmanship without additional labor charge.
The workmanship warranty applies only to the original client and installation location and is non-transferable. Warranty coverage applies only to work originally performed by Uniq Installs and does not extend or restart following a warranty repair unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing.
7. Manufacturer Warranties & Warranty Exclusions
Electronics and equipment supplied by Uniq Installs are covered by the applicable manufacturer warranties, if any. Manufacturer warranties are provided by the manufacturer and are subject to the manufacturer’s own terms, conditions, limitations, procedures, and warranty periods. Uniq Installs does not independently extend or replace a manufacturer warranty unless expressly stated in writing.
The Uniq Installs workmanship warranty does not cover equipment failure, normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, misuse, abuse, accidents, unauthorized modification or repair, improper operation, power surges, electrical issues, lightning, water or moisture intrusion, fire, pests, structural movement, environmental conditions, internet or utility outages, software or firmware changes, third-party services, manufacturer defects, or other conditions not caused by Uniq Installs’ workmanship.
Warranty coverage may also be denied where the installation or affected work has been altered, removed, relocated, repaired, modified, tampered with, or otherwise interfered with by the client or another party after completion, when that action caused or contributed to the claimed issue.
8. Warranty Claims & Non-Warranty Service
If you believe an issue may be covered by the Uniq Installs workmanship warranty, please contact us with a description of the issue and any reasonably requested information needed to evaluate the claim. Uniq Installs may perform troubleshooting or an inspection to determine whether the issue is covered.
If the issue is determined to result from covered workmanship, Uniq Installs will provide the applicable corrective labor in accordance with the 3-Year Workmanship Warranty. If the issue is determined not to be covered, any diagnostic, troubleshooting, repair, replacement, travel, materials, or additional service may be chargeable at the applicable rates.
Diagnostic service begins at $225 when applicable. Uniq Installs will communicate any additional recommended work or charges before proceeding when additional authorization is required.
9. Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Uniq Installs is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential losses arising from equipment failure, interruption of third-party services, internet or utility outages, software or firmware changes, manufacturer defects, incompatibility, data loss, loss of use, or conditions outside the approved scope of work or reasonable control of Uniq Installs.
Clients are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of important data, settings, passwords, configurations, and other information where applicable before service is performed. Uniq Installs is not responsible for loss of data or settings except to the extent directly caused by Uniq Installs’ negligence or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit any right, remedy, warranty, or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
10. General Terms
These Service Terms & Warranty Details are intended to supplement the project-specific estimates, proposals, invoices, contracts, change orders, and other written agreements issued by Uniq Installs. If a project-specific written agreement contains terms that differ from these general terms, the project-specific terms will control to the extent of the conflict.
If any provision of these terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
These terms are governed by applicable law, including the laws of the State of New Jersey where applicable. Nothing in these terms is intended to waive or limit rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be waived or limited.
Uniq Installs may update these Service Terms & Warranty Details from time to time to reflect changes in our services, business practices, warranty program, or applicable requirements. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page identifies the most recent version.
